This position is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and welding a variety of elevator components and related products in accordance with engineering drawings, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

A typical day may include:



  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, work orders, engineering drawings, and specifications.

  • Setting up and operating welding equipment to fabricate and assemble metal components.

  • Performing MIG, TIG, and other welding processes as required.

  • Preparing materials for welding through cutting, grinding, fitting, and alignment.

  • Welding components in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions as required.

  • Inspecting completed welds to ensure compliance with quality and workmanship standards.

  • Using measuring devices such as tape measures, calipers, squares, and gauges to verify dimensions.

  • Operating hand tools, power tools, grinders, and other fabrication equipment safely and effectively.

  • Identifying and correcting welding defects and reworking parts as necessary.

  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.

  • Following all company safety procedures, quality standards, and manufacturing processes.

  • Assisting with continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements.

  • Performing other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Required


  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Previous welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.

  • Experience operating welding and fabrication equipment.

  • Ability to use measuring instruments and perform basic shop math.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work throughout the shift.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Preferred


  • AWS Welding Certification.

  • Experience with MIG and TIG welding.

  • Experience working in a heavy manufacturing environment.

  • Forklift and overhead crane experience.

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.


Working Conditions


  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, welding fumes, and moving equipment.

  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including welding helmets, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed footwear.

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and repetitive motion throughout the workday.

Position Details


  • Full Time

  • New starting rate of $20.00-$29.00 plus additional increases!

  • 1st shift hours vary between 7:00 am – 5:30 pm CST (8, 9 or 10-hour shifts)
