Job summary

Laitram Machinery, Inc. in Harahan, LA is seeking a Welding Shop Helper to support fabrication operations. This entry-level role requires self-starters who can complete tasks with minimal supervision and contribute to maintaining a clean, safe work area.

Responsibilities include housekeeping, operating shop equipment, assisting fabricators, moving materials, and cross-training across departments. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, ability to lift 50 lbs, and willingness

• Ability to work in and maintain a safe work environment
• Entry level knowledge of all equipment and tools necessary to perform the duties required
• Ability to learn how to operate material handling equipment to move and align materials
• Must be able to learn Laitram Machinery Quality Standards
• Must be able to perform the essential job requirements identified in the Functional Job Description for this position, including the ability to lift and move 50 lbs

• Assist fabricators in performance of their duties
• Gather materials.
• Move material to next station
• Assist as need with cleaning and applying chemical treatments to welds

• It is essential that this position is performed at the facility.

Job description

Laitram Machinery, Inc. has a position available for a Welding Shop Helper. This individual will be a key player in fabrication operations at our Harahan, LA location. Applicants should be self-starters, able to complete tasks with little direct supervision.

Desired Qualifications

• Previous fabrication experience and/or vocational training.
• Previous overhead crane experience
• Previous forklift experience
