Job summary

Laitram Machinery, Inc. seeks a Weld Clean Technician at our Harahan, LA facility. The role supports fabrication operations, with tasks including cleaning, prepping, and applying chemical treatments to welded equipment, while ensuring safety and quality.

The ideal candidate is self-driven, able to follow schedules, and capable of lifting up to 50 pounds to meet production deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to follow a work schedule and meet due dates.
• Ability to shift focus based on changing plans and priorities.
• Ability to be self-managed and work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to perform the essential job requirements identified in the Functional Job Description for this position, including the ability to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Intake new items for processing.
• Clean and prepare welded equipment for chemical treatment.
• Apply chemical treatment to welded equipment in accordance with procedures and safety guidelines.
• Identify HOT, inner company, and service orders and prioritize work accordingly.
• Inspect work to ensure welds are clean and quality meets Laitram standards.
• Move completed work to the correct next step in the production process.
