Job summary

Laitram Machinery, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Welding Shop Helper at our Harahan, LA facility. The role supports fabrication operations, performs general housekeeping, operates shop equipment, and assists fabricators with material handling and cleaning welds.

Applicants should be self-starters, able to complete tasks with minimal supervision and maintain safety in a production environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs safely.
• Entry-level knowledge of shop equipment and materials handling.
• Commitment to safety and maintaining a clean, organized work area.
• Previous fabrication experience or vocational training is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform general housekeeping in the assigned area.
• Operate shop equipment as necessary.
• Assist fabricators and gather materials.
• Move materials to the next station.
• Assist as needed with cleaning and applying chemical treatments to welds.
• Cross-train and provide coverage during busy times.
• Ensure this position is performed at the facility.
