• Oversee efficient flow of product and maintain component parts.
• Responsible for product quality and workmanship of the department.
• Assist in developing corrective actions for KPI performance.
• Assign work based on the production schedule and make adjustments.
• Anticipate production delays and implement procedures to offset losses.
• Communicate necessary repairs of equipment to avoid downtime.
• Monitor safety devices and ensure safety behaviors are followed.
• Complete appropriate paperwork for process tracking and improvement.
• Assist with Operator training as needed.
• Initiate communication on production or quality issues.
• Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Provide input on employee performance and training opportunities.
• Serve as a backup to the Operations Supervisor.

Responsibilities

Oversee efficient flow of product; striving to make sure component parts, containers and production supplies are always at the line to eliminate any line stoppage.

• Responsible for product quality, and workmanship of the department.
• Assists with developing and implementing corrective actions that will drive positive KPI performance.
• Assigns work based on the daily production schedule; and if necessary, makes adjustments as requested by supervisors and planners.
• Anticipate production delays, material shortages, equipment malfunctions, etc. and where feasible implement procedures to offset loss of labor hours and schedule interruptions.
• Communicates necessary repairs of equipment to avoid excessive downtime.
• Monitor use of safety devices, equipment, departmental housekeeping, and maintain constant alert for hazardous conditions. Ensures proper safety behaviors are being followed.
• Ensure appropriate paperwork is properly completed for effective process tracking to support Quality and continuous improvement efforts.
• Assists mentors with Operator training as needed.
• Initiate communication with appropriate personnel when external input/help is needed on production or quality issues.
• Works with department supervisor to maintain conformance with Company policies and procedures. Participates in disciplinary measures as appropriate.
• Provide input on employee performance and training opportunities.
• Serves as a back up to the Operations Supervisor as needed.
• Other duties as assigned

Must have a High School degree or GED. Ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with previous leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
