Job summary

This role reports to the plant leadership team and emphasizes hands-on supervision and process control. The ideal candidate has proficiency in MIG and TIG welding, strong knowledge of welding parameters, and prior welding supervision experience.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency in MIG (GMAW) and TIG (GTAW) welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
• Strong working knowledge of welding techniques, equipment setup, material preparation, weld parameters, and quality standards.
• Capable of evaluating weld quality, identifying welding defects, troubleshooting welding processes, and training welding personnel.
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience of a welding team is required.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment; BA in Industrial Technology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Be a key member of the Plant Leadership Team.
• Supervise all hourly welding team members.
• Spend 90% of the day on the shop floor.
• Ensure welding operations are safe, efficient, and compliant with specifications and quality standards.
• Perform administrative supervisory tasks and maintain morale and cooperation.
• Administer discipline per company rules and approve timecards.
• Provide guidance, assign tasks, and train staff in new tasks.
• Participate in manufacturing goal meetings and align with objectives.
• Understand and comply with company policies and safety rules.
• Assist in annual inventory counts and safety compliance.
