Job summary

National Carwash Solutions is seeking a Production Supervisor - Welding (MIG and TIG) at its Grimes, Iowa manufacturing plant. The role focuses on leading welding operations, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency, and guiding a team of hourly welders on the shop floor.

Qualifications

Demonstrated proficiency in MIG (GMAW) and TIG (GTAW) welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
Strong knowledge of welding techniques, equipment setup, material preparation, weld parameters, and quality standards.
Capable of evaluating weld quality, identifying defects and providing guidance to welding personnel.
Prior leadership or supervisory experience of a welding team.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
Lean manufacturing tools and concepts, preferred.

Responsibilities

Be a key member of the Plant Leadership Team.
Supervise all hourly employees within the Welding team.
90% of the day spent on the shop floor.
Ensure welding operations are performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with specifications and quality standards.
Approve employee timecards and wage allowances.
Train employees in new work tasks within the department.
Participate in meetings associated with manufacturing goals and objectives.
