National Carwash Solutions in Grimes, IA, is seeking a Production Supervisor - Welding (MIG/TIG) to lead the Welding team on the shop floor and ensure safe, efficient manufacturing.

You will supervise hourly workers, plan and coordinate welding operations, maintain quality standards, and partner with plant leadership to meet production goals. This role emphasizes hands-on supervision and a strong focus on safety and process improvement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years welding experience in manufacturing.
• Strong welding knowledge, setup, parameters and quality standards.
• Leadership or supervisory experience in welding.
• BA in Industrial Technology or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Be a key member of the Plant Leadership Team.

Job Summary:

As a Production Supervisor - Welding, you will be a member of the operations team. You will ensure that all hourly employees are performing work in a safe and efficient matter. Successful candidates will have experience in planning, coordinating, and controlling manufacturing processes, specifically for welding both MIG and TIG

Job Duties:

• Be a key member of the Plant Leadership Team
• Supervise all hourly employees within the Welding team
• 90% of the day spent on the shop floor
• Responsible for ensuring welding operations are performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established specifications, procedures drawings, and company quality standards
• Perform common administrative functions required of personnel in a supervisory capacity; Endeavors to maintain good employee morale, enthusiasm and cooperation
• Administer discipline in accordance with company work rules
• Provide guidance and assign tasks within the department
• Train employees in new work tasks within the department
• Participate in meetings associated with manufacturing goals and objectives
• Approve employee timecards and authorize wage allowances in accordance with company policies
• Understand and comply with company policies
• Participate in company annual inventory count
• Comply and ensure all team members comply with all applicable OSHA, EPA, local regulatory laws, and company safety policies
• Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of this position at any time

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated proficiency in MIG (GMAW) and TIG (GTAW) welding processes on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
• Must possess a strong working knowledge of welding techniques, equipment setup, material preparation, weld parameters, and quality standards
• Must be capable of evaluating weld quality, identifying welding defects, troubleshooting welding processes, and providing technical guidance and training to welding personnel
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience of a welding team required
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing industry environment
• BA in Industrial Technology or related field preferred
• Proficiency with lean manufacturing tools and concepts, preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift light to medium weight up to 75 lbs.
• May stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
• May stoop, bend, reach, walk; perform repetitive motions using hands to grasp, push, pull or do fine manipulations
