Robinson, Inc. seeks a Production Coordinator - Weld for on-site duties in Altoona, IA.

You will oversee welding workflow, quality, and efficiency, interpret blueprints, coordinate material prep, and ensure welders have the information and resources to complete projects on schedule. The role requires MIG/TIG/STICK welding experience, strong safety understanding, metallurgy knowledge, and the ability to read drawings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; welding certification preferred.
• Proven welding experience (MIG/TIG/STICK) in a manufacturing environment.
• 2–4 years welding plus 3–7 years production experience in metal fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high-quality production with minimal rework, meeting efficiency and production goals.
• Assist and guide other fabricators to ensure consistent quality and teamwork.
• Fit, tack, and weld fabrications to completion, verifying dimensions for accuracy.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and promote a safe work environment.
• Identify issues, propose solutions, and present data-driven recommendations.
• Foster teamwork, provide support, and respond constructively to feedback.
• Operate welding equipment and machinery safely and effectively, adhering to established procedures and safety protocols.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to address issues or concerns related to welding processes or product quality.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety, quality assurance, and workplace conduct.
• Train and mentor production welders to improve technical skills, weld quality, and shop-floor performance.
