Job summary

Adams Thermal Systems is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer specializing in welding to lead design, installation, and continuous improvement of welding production systems in Canton, SD. You will drive documentation, welder training, and capital projects while collaborating with engineering, quality, and operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 to 3 years related experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 2 to 3 years related experience in welding.
• Experience with welding processes, tooling design, work station layout and OSHA/safety regulations preferred.
• Robotic welding automation experience preferred.
• Basic PC skills; CAD and Drafting experience.
• AAS BS in engineering or welding related field; CWI preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, installation, and improvement of welding-focused production systems.
• Create, implement, and maintain weld documentation (WPS, PQR) and welder trainings.
• Develop weld systems for GMAW, GMAW-P, GTAW, GTAW-P and CMT.
• Read and interpret codes; advise improvements.
• Improve production processes, workstation layouts, and man-machine interfaces for quality, throughput and cost targets.
• Provide day-to-day manufacturing support and problem-solving.
• Develop capital budgets for process improvement and capacity increases.
• Project-manage new equipment from evaluation to installation and operation.
• Participate in Simultaneous Engineering for manufacturability and cost effectiveness.
• Engage in TS16949 processes (Control Plans, PPAPs, SPC, etc.).
• Provide product costing using production standards and time/motion studies.
