Job summary

NOVA Workforce Adjunct faculty in welding offers part-time, contract teaching assignments across diverse welding disciplines in a lab/ classroom setting. Courses may be in person or hybrid, with schedules adapting to student enrollments and program needs.

Instructors plan and deliver instruction, assess student progress, and maintain safety and equipment in the lab, while participating in ongoing professional development within the college’s workforce development programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Welding experience in commercial, industrial or construction environments.
• Demonstrated experience performing SMAW, GMAW, GTAW and FCAW.
• AWS welding certifications or equivalent aligned with industry standards preferred.
• Ability to obtain additional or updated certifications as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on, guided, differentiated instruction to welding students.
• Prepare course materials and lesson plans.
• Maintain classroom and lab safety, and manage equipment.
• Use the college LMS to post syllabi, assignments and communicate with students.
• Assess student learning and maintain records of enrollment and grades.
• Deliver content using various teaching styles and real-world applications.
