Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with two years of post-secondary education in a technical discipline.
• Three years of experience in the technical area; relevant experience may substitute for the post-secondary education requirement.
• Proven written and oral communication skills to assist students in understanding work.
• Proven ability to lead others and evaluate performance.
• Some positions may require specialized knowledge and program-specific certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to students through the safe use of welding equipment, tools, materials, and laboratory resources.
• Set up and support laboratory activities, monitor student progress, and assist with instruction and assessments as assigned.
• Train and orient students and staff on laboratory procedures, equipment operation, safety protocols, and PPE use.
• Maintain laboratory records, inventories, and operational procedures.
• Procure supplies, equipment, and instructional materials; track expenditures and coordinate with vendors.
• Maintain welding laboratories, equipment, and facilities to ensure safe, clean, and effective operations.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues, coordinate repairs, and manage checkout and tracking of tools and materials.
• Coordinate daily laboratory operations and oversee staff and student employees.
