Job summary

Chicago Bridge & Iron Company (CB&I) seeks a Welding Engineer Technician for its Weld Lab to perform welding, NDE, PWHT, machining and related technical tasks. The role supports development of new welding technologies, materials and manuals, and assists with CB&I personnel training.

Responsibilities include mentoring, meeting deadlines, maintaining lab equipment, and promoting CB&I safety culture, with local project site requirements and continuous improvement expectations.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years welding experience preferred.
• College certificate in welding technology or manufacturing technology preferred.
• Cross-functional training such as mechanical testing and machining desired.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe, efficient operations of the Weld Lab.
• Perform welding, NDE, PWHT and machining per work orders.
• Assist with training and testing of welding personnel.
• Provide feedback and improvements for lab tools and workflows.
