Job summary

Perry Technical Institute in Yakima, WA is seeking a Welding Lab Coordinator for the Welding Technology Program. This full-time, year-round hourly role reports to the Department Head and runs 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Thursday, in a welding shop setting.

The position involves managing lab inventory, coordinating purchasing of supplies, assisting instructors with setup, tracking student progress, and enforcing safety PPE standards while participating in department activities and meetings.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate effectively with students and staff.
• Successful completion of a welding skills test.
• Ability to operate a computer.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and driving record.
• Must consent to a drug test.
• English reading and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot lab issues and maintain a safe environment.
• Maintain inventory of filler/base metals and consumables.
• Coordinate purchasing of supplies with the Department Head.
• Assist instructors with lab and demonstration setup.
• Assist in documenting student progress and attendance.
• Perform routine maintenance on welding lab equipment.
• Attend department and faculty meetings.
