Job summary

Mountain Gateway Community College is seeking a Welding Lab Technician & Instructional Aide to support safe, efficient welding instruction. You will assist instructors, prepare materials, maintain inventories, and help supervise demonstrations in a busy welding lab.

The role is grant-funded, with a normal 8 AM–5 PM schedule, and requires adherence to safety procedures and active lab work around welding equipment and materials.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completed welding program.
• Industry-recognized welding certifications (AWS or equivalent) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow and enforce welding shop safety rules and practices.
• Maintain welding lab cleanliness, organization, and inventory.
• Prepare welding materials, test coupons, and instructional materials as needed.
• Assist with setup, operation, and organization of lab activities and demonstrations.
• Provide hands-on assistance to students under instructor direction.
• Report equipment malfunctions and safety concerns to instructors or supervisors.
• Maintain professional, student-focused environment in the welding lab.
