Steffes is seeking a Weld Intern to develop foundational welding and fabrication skills through hands-on training and supervised production experience. You will assist experienced welders, read drawings, and learn to operate welding tools safely while supporting quality manufacturing.

This internship emphasizes learning, teamwork, and adherence to standard work, with opportunities to progress skills and contribute to a safe, efficient production environment.

Formación

• Enrolled in an approved Welding program.
• Remain in good standing with educational institution during internship.
• Basic computer knowledge (Windows, email, internet, etc.).
• Demonstrates attention to detail.

Responsabilidades

• Learn to safely operate welding tools under supervision.
• Read drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, and heat numbers when applicable.
• Follow standard work, training guides, weld procedures, and acceptance criteria with guidance.
• Assist with basic robot operation, including loading/unloading parts, starting and stopping the robot, and TPMs; report welds outside tolerance.
• Rotate through various work areas to gain knowledge across products and processes.
• Assist experienced welders with daily production tasks and progressively perform welding tasks as skills develop.
• Develop basic problem-solving skills by identifying issues and seeking guidance.
• Learn and follow build boards and Kanban system requirements.
• Identify and report inconsistencies or defects to lead/supervisor.
• Learn basic adjustments to fabrication parts for proper alignment and fit-up.
• Maintain a positive, collaborative workplace with customers, suppliers, co-workers, and management.
• Help Steffes meet its Strategic, Quality, and Safety objectives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
