Job summary

Management & Training Corporation operates the Clearfield Job Corps Center in Clearfield, UT, seeking an instructor to teach welding to youth aged 16–24. The role covers SMAW, GMAW, FCAW and related processes, with focus on safety, curriculum delivery, and student development.

The candidate will lead lessons, mentor students, coordinate with counselors, and ensure a structured training environment in a full-time schedule, Monday–Friday, with competitive wages based on experience.

Qualifications

• HSD/GED required.
• Utah state teaching certificate with an endorsement in Welding or AWS CWI/CWE or NCCER Certified Craft Instructor, plus 6G Certification in SMAW and GMAW or FCAW-G; familiarity with API code.
• Experience with youth, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and computer proficiency.
• A valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide students with direction, instruction, and assistance in designated areas of instruction.
• Motivate and counsel students in areas of behavior, training, personal problems, or study habits.
• Coordinate with counselors and staff to resolve issues affecting student training and/or instruction.
• Develop and prepare lessons in accordance with approved curriculum guidelines, recommend curricula changes, and supplemental materials.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe training environment.

Education

HSD/GED

Utah state teaching certificate with Welding endorsement / CWE / CWI / NCCER Certified Craft Instructor

6G Certification in SMAW and GMAW or FCAW-G

Familiar with API code

Experience with youth and strong communication skills
