Job summary

Tulsa Tech is seeking an Instructor for Welding to educate and train students, preparing them for the workplace or further education. The role requires managing a dynamic classroom, organizing instructional materials, and delivering competency-based instruction in alignment with program goals.

The instructor will provide student counseling, maintain records, and collaborate with district staff to support retention and program completion.

Qualifications

3–5 years of experience in welding or related teaching field.
Knowledge of SMAW, GMAW, FCAW and GTAW welding practices.
Valid state driver's license.
Must obtain ODCTE teaching certification with a Trade & Industrial endorsement upon employment.
Bilingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

Effectively manage the classroom to create an optimal learning environment.
Plan and organize instructional materials, update lesson plans, and instruct students using competency-based curriculum.
Evaluate student progress toward competencies and provide feedback.
Provide counseling and collaborate with administrators to support student retention and completion.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress and grades.
Process paperwork for district operations and purchasing.
Develop and maintain industry contacts and promote student placement.
Participate in campus projects and CTSO activities as assigned.
Stay current with educational methodology and industry topics through professional development.
Exercise discretion and provide consultation to management on departmental operations.
