Job summary

Universal Technical Institute, Inc. is seeking a Welding Instructor to guide aspiring welders through hands-on training and real-world practice. You will inspire students, lead demonstrations, and help expand our welding curriculum in a supportive, safety‑focused classroom.

You’ll mentor students on projects, emphasize safe work habits, and collaborate with the education team to stay current with industry trends. Training is provided for new instructors, and a strong benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3–5 years of practical welding experience.
  • Experience teaching or mentoring is a plus.
  • Strong communication and empathy for students.
  • Ability to develop hands-on curriculum.

Responsibilities

  • Mentorship: Guide and mentor students on their individual projects, encouraging them to think critically and find innovative solutions.
  • Safety First: Instill the importance of safety procedures and best practices to ensure a secure working environment for students
Quaifications
  • Education: High school diploma or GED
  • Experience: 3-5 years of practical work experience in the field
  • Technical Skills: MIG, TIG, stick and flux‑cored welding, oxy‑acetylene torch work, plasma cutting, and brazing
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to effectively connect with students and fellow staff
  • Patience and Empathy: A patient and empathetic approach to teaching, understanding that every student learns at their own pace
