Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) invites qualified applicants to join the Sierra Nevada Job Corps Center in Reno, NV as a career technical training instructor. You will deliver instruction per approved curricula and help students reach their technical training goals.

This full-time position offers a wage of $48,360 annually plus a $2,000 sign-on bonus, a benefits package including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, a 401(k), paid time off, holidays and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certification by NCCER or AWS or ASME Boiler/Pressure Vessel code is required.
• A valid driver license with acceptable driving record is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide students with direction, instruction, and assistance in designated areas.
• Motivate and counsel students on behavior, training, and study habits.
• Develop and prepare lessons per approved curriculum guidelines.
• Review contractual compliance and prepare related reports.
• Maintain a clean, safe training environment.
• Participate in student assessment panels and document evaluations using CIS.

Schedule – Full Time, 8hr shifts, Monday – Friday

What you will be doing: You’ll be responsible for the career technical training instruction per approved curricula. They will provide training and basic guidance and direction to help students achieve their technical training goals.

Essential functions:

• Provide students with direction, instruction, and assistance in designated areas of instruction.
• Motivate and counsel students in areas of behavior, training, personal problems, or study habits.
• Develop and prepare lessons in accordance with approved curriculum guidelines, recommend curricula changes and supplemental materials.
• Review and audit all assigned areas regularly for contractual compliance and effectiveness of delivery of services to students. Prepare related reports.
• Maintain organized, clean, and safe training environment.
• Participate in student assessment panels, perform required documentation and evaluation using CIS (Center Information System) and other documentation systems.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified by NCCER or AWS or standard established by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Boiler and Pressure Vessel code.
• A valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.
