Job summary

Arclabs Welding School in South Carolina is seeking a full-time Welding Instructor to deliver lecture, laboratory, and clinical instruction aligned with the program curriculum. You will maintain lesson plans, monitor attendance, and evaluate student performance while upholding accreditation standards.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of welding experience, including GTAW, GMAW/FCAW, and SMAW, with demonstrated ability to mentor students, manage equipment, and collaborate with the Lead Welding

Qualifications

  • 5+ years welding experience; GTAW 3 years; GMAW/FCAW 3 years; SMAW 3 years.
  • Must be able to pass the specified weld tests (3G/4G GMAW/FCAW, 6G GTAW/SMAW).
  • Full-time position with benefits (401(k), health, vision, PTO).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and provide all lecture, laboratory and clinical instruction according to the required curriculum.
  • Follow current course outlines, objectives, and evaluation mechanisms for the program.
  • Maintain a lesson plan of daily instructional events.
  • Monitor student attendance and retention and document as required by the administration.
  • Grading assignments and returning graded assignments to students; assign final grades.
  • Provide educational assistance to students during office hours or by appointment.
  • Advise students on policies and performance; communicate with Lead Welding Instructor.
  • Submit current textbook, supply, and equipment needs to Lead Welding Instructor.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment and supply inventory; submit purchase orders to the purchasing department.
  • Attend meetings and participate in committees as assigned; maintain professional development for accreditation.

Arclabs Welding School is growing and we are looking to hire a full-time welding instructor.
Welding Instructor
  • Prepare and provide all lecture, laboratory and clinical instruction according to the required curriculum
  • Follow current course outlines, objectives, and evaluation mechanisms for the program
  • Maintain a lesson plan of daily instructional events
  • Monitor student attendance and retention and document as required by the administration Grading assignments, returning graded assignments to students, and assigning final grades for all students in a timely manner
  • Provide educational assistance to students during regularly scheduled times (i.e., office hours) or by appointment
  • Advise students as it relates to school policies, satisfactory performance, etc.
  • Maintain communication with Lead Welding Instructor regarding such activity
  • Submit in writing current textbook, supply, and equipment needs to the Lead Welding Instructor
  • Monitor & maintain all equipment and supply inventory in locked facilities
  • Submit purchase orders to the purchasing department for all necessary items
  • Secure consumable supplies as well as educational materials from administrative office when needed
  • Maintain professional appearance at all times
  • Communicate with administration on all issues related to students
  • Maintain professional expertise (faculty development) to meet accreditation standards by attending educational seminars in professional field, reading current literature, attending online courses, etc.
  • Ensure that students follow the catalog guidelines daily
  • Attend all scheduled mandatory meetings set by the cooperate office
  • Serve on committees (e.g., curriculum development, retention, etc.) as assigned based upon expertise or campus needs
  • Perform other duties as required
Requirements

Must be able to pass the following weld test

  • 3G and 4G GMAW/FCAW combo Mig root uphill or downhill Flux core fill and cap on 3/8 carbon steel plate.
  • 6G GTAW/SMAW combo on 4in sch80 carbon steel pipe.
