Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Welding Inspector I to work under a Certified Welding Inspector on structural steel and pipe welding, verifying fit-up, WPS compliance, and welder qualifications.

You will maintain weld maps and inspection logs, record results, and coordinate with NDT staff; pay ranges $28–$36 per hour in Texas, with travel and overtime as required, and company sponsorship for CWI exam.

Qualifications

• Must have CAWI or be eligible to sit for the CWI exam.
• Reads structural drawings and weld symbols and WPS/PQR documents.
• Physically able to work at height and in confined spaces on active sites.

Responsibilities

• Verify joint fit-up, preheat, and WPS compliance before and during welding.
• Perform visual weld inspection under supervision to applicable codes.
• Coordinate with NDT technician and record results in logs and reports.
