Bacon Farmer Workman Engineering & Testing, Inc. and Marcum Engineering LLC are seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)/Construction Inspector to join our Testing & Inspections team in Paducah, KY.

You’ll serve as the trusted eyes on seismic-related construction, ensuring welding and building standards are met on active job sites. Responsibilities include inspecting structures, reviewing plans and drawings, conducting NDT when needed, documenting findings, and collaborating with project

Qualifications

• Current AWS CWI certification.
• Minimum 3+ years of related inspection or construction experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• NDT Level II or III certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect wood and steel structures on active construction sites for compliance with welding codes, local building codes, standards, and project specifications.
• Review construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings, including structural and seismic connection details.
• Perform quality control checks throughout the welding process, including visual inspection and NDT when needed.
• Document findings and prepare clear, accurate reports for project teams and regulatory agencies.
• Work with construction management teams to resolve material and procedural issues quickly.
• Champion jobsite safety by following and applying company safety policies.

Welding Inspector (CWI)/ Construction Inspector – Full-Time

Paducah, KY

Are you a Certified Welding Inspector who takes pride in getting it right the first time? Do you like being out on active job sites rather than behind a desk? If so, we want to talk to you. BFW/Marcum is looking for a skilled Welding Inspector / Construction Inspector to join our Testing & Inspections team. In this role, you will be the trusted set of eyes on seismic-related construction, making sure the buildings and structures our communities depend on are constructed to code, per project specifications and to withstand the test of time.

Essential Job Functions:

• Inspect wood and steel structures on active construction sites for compliance with welding codes, local building codes, standards, and project specifications
• Review construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings, including structural and seismic connection details
• Perform quality control checks throughout the welding process, including visual inspection and non‑destructive testing (NDT) when needed
• Document your findings and prepare clear, accurate reports for project teams and regulatory agencies
• Work with construction management teams to resolve material and procedural issues quickly
• Champion jobsite safety by following and applying company safety policies

Education/Experience:

• Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification
• 3+ years of related inspection or construction experience
• High school diploma or GED
• A sharp eye for detail, solid problem‑solving skills, and the ability to stay calm under pressure
• NDT Level II or III certifications in line with ASNT SNT-TC-1A are preferred
