Job summary

Kiewit in North Carolina seeks a Welder Foreman to lead our welding team at the Carolina Shop. You will supervise daily welding operations, interpret blueprints, and maintain high craftsmanship standards to meet project requirements.

You will mentor junior welders, assign tasks by skill, enforce safety protocols, and coordinate with project managers to keep projects on time and within scope while upholding AWS/ASME codes.

Qualifications

• Proven welding foreman or supervisor experience on construction or fabrication projects.
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings.
• Experience applying AWS/ASME standards and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead welding activities and coordinate a team on-site or in shop.
• Interpret drawings and guide fabrication and assembly.
• Assign tasks by skill level and monitor quality and safety.
• Ensure compliance with AWS/ASME standards and safety regulations.
• Oversee welding methods: FCAW, MIG, TIG, SMAW, plasma cutting.
• Perform quality checks using calipers and micrometers.
• Enforce safe work practices and conduct safety audits.
