Job summary

Dodge County is seeking a full-time, non-exempt Equipment Technician to repair and service trucks, graders, plows, and related equipment. The role involves welding, cutting, fabrication, and maintaining hydraulic and mechanical systems across field and shop environments.

The position requires strong technical training in welding and equipment repair, with adherence to safety policies and ability to work a schedule including evenings or weekends during adverse conditions.

Qualifications

• Education/technical training required for welding and equipment repair.
• Welder certificate/diploma preferred; related hands-on work experience acceptable.
• Experience reading blueprints and understanding hydraulic systems is essential.

Responsibilities

• Repair and service trucks, graders, plows, tractors, dozers, and similar equipment.
• Diagnose hydraulic, steering, suspension, brake systems and perform repairs.
• Perform welding, cutting, torch work, fabrication and equipment maintenance.
• Ensure safety policies are followed and operate equipment in a safe manner.
• Maintain records and adapt to weather and emergency situations as needed.
