Job summary

College of Lake County seeks an Adjunct Faculty member to deliver hands-on welding and fabrication instruction in the Advanced Technology Center. Classes may include evenings or Saturdays, with sessions at the Grayslake Campus.

The instructor will teach to industry standards, assess student performance, and maintain safe, engaging labs. AWS certification and substantial welding hours are required for eligibility.

Qualifications

• Welding Fabrication Technology (WFT) – EGRDV Associate's degree or A.A.S. in Welding with AWS certification and 6,000–14,000 hours experience.
• AWS Welding Certification is required for all listed pathways.
• At least 10,000 hours of welding experience (for first option) or 6,000+ hours (second) or 14,000+ hours (third).

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in welding and fabrication as scheduled each semester.
• Maintain safety and a clean, well-managed lab environment.
• Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback on assignments and exams.
• Develop and update instructional materials and syllabi aligned with outcomes.
• Attend adjunct meetings and complete compliance trainings as required.
