Job summary

College of Lake County seeks an Adjunct Faculty member to deliver hands-on welding and fabrication instruction at the Advanced Technology Center. Classes may include Saturdays or evenings, with supervision of safety and student engagement across labs.

The instructor will develop materials, assess student performance, and provide timely feedback while maintaining a safe classroom environment. AWS certification and significant welding experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Attend adjunct meetings and complete required trainings.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in welding and fabrication as scheduled each semester.
  • Meet all classes at assigned location and times; report absences as required.
  • Deliver course content using inclusive teaching practices and LMS tools.
  • Develop and maintain course objectives and learning outcomes in syllabi.
  • Maintain accurate records of grading, attendance, and class documentation.

This includes, but is not limited to safety, welding theory & techniques, evaluating student performance and maintaining a safe, engaging class and lab environment.Class meeting times may include Saturdays and/or evening hours and take place in CLC's Advanced Technology Center.Job Description:Teach courses in discipline, as scheduled each academic semester, using a variety of student centered, culturally relevant instructional methods to support diverse learning styles and student needs.Meet all classes at assigned location and times. If unable to meet an assigned class reports absence to supervisor and academic division staff in an appropriate manner.Develop, revise, and maintain instructional materials, course content, and syllabi that align with departmental standards and student learning outcomes.Observe and evaluate student performance through assignments, exams, discussions, and projects. Provide timely and constructive feedback.Support student retention and success by identifying at-risk students, providing instructional support, and referring students to appropriate college services.Be available for student consultation through phone or email.Use approved College standardized system(s) to provide students and the division with a syllabus that includes course objectives, learning outcomes, attendance policies, required materials, timelines, and evaluation criteria.Deliver course content using inclusive teaching strategies and incorporate instructional technology, including the Learning Management System (LMS) and other digital tools.Encourage and review student course evaluations to improve teaching effectiveness and course delivery.Maintain accurate and timely records for grading, attendance, and other required documentation. Submit grades and related records by established deadlines. Produces appropriate grade and course records for supervisor upon request.Uphold academic integrity policies and address violations in accordance with college guidelines.
