Job summary

Hi-Tech Weld Overlay Group is seeking a Weld Equipment Technician to maintain and prepare welding, gouging, and blasting systems for field and in-house use. The role involves project setup, equipment calibration, and potential NDE tasks pending training.

This position supports field projects across industrial sites and includes potential for advancement into leadership roles within Production, QC, Safety and R&D.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of hands-on welding industry or industrial construction experience.
• Ability to operate common tools and equipment used in welding.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist craft personnel by ensuring materials, equipment, and tooling are present and safe throughout the project duration.
• Maintain equipment logs and site inventory management of materials and consumables.
• Set up and stage weld overlay equipment for safety and efficiency, while maintaining good housekeeping.
• Ensure weld overlay machines and support equipment operate within parameters for safe operation and quality results.
• Collaborate with Welding and NDE personnel to train and demonstrate proper use of equipment.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures at all times.
• Adhere to quality standards and meet productivity targets.
• Account for and store equipment properly using checklists, report missing/defective items.
• Assist Union Craft Boilermakers and warehouse tasks as needed.
• Demonstrate teamwork and cooperation with all company personnel and customers.
