BWX Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Welding Engineering Intern for its Barberton, Ohio facility.

This paid summer internship offers hands-on experience in welding engineering within a nuclear environment, with opportunities to work on process improvements, welding procedures, and shop-floor support. Interns will collaborate with manufacturing and operations teams, develop project deliverables, and present final results to leadership after 10–12 weeks.

Formación

• Must be enrolled full time in an accredited university/college in Welding Engineering, Welding Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology with a welding emphasis, or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years of relevant course work completed.
• Prior internship experience is preferred but not required.
• Experience or knowledge with basic arc welding processes such as GTAW, SMAW, SAW, and GMAW welding.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

Responsabilidades

• Support welding engineering projects, improvements, and welding engineering specific functions.
• Lead 5S/process improvement projects relating to specific shop operation jobs.
• Assist with welding procedure development and interpretations.
• Perform welding operation and system audits.
• Apply knowledge of welding processes to support shop floor operations and troubleshooting of welding equipment and operations.
• Documentation and support of operational improvements such as creation of job aids, weld instructions, or checklists.
• Carry out operational efficiency projects (Individual & Team Based).
• Support data collection and analysis for weld metrics.
