Job summary

AUTOKINITON seeks a Weld Engineer to drive welding engineering, design and testing across plant operations in Chicago, IL. This role focuses on specifying welding systems, maintaining equipment efficiency, and improving weld quality within a team-based environment.

You will design welding methods, assist QA on weld integrity, and participate in root-cause analysis and safety compliance as part of theEngineering Team reporting to the Engineering Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in weld/robotics engineering or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on welding or joining experience.
• Knowledge of MIG welding processes and robotic welding programming preferred.
• Familiar with NEC/OSHA safety and electrical safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Specify welding equipment, consumables, electrical and mechanical systems for welding.
• Develop preventative maintenance procedures for welding equipment and robotics.
• Design, develop and test welding methods, materials and processes.
• Assist QA to maintain weld integrity and resolve welding issues.
• Participate in root cause analysis and team problem solving.
