Job summary

AUTOKINITON is seeking a Welding Engineer to drive excellence on corporate strategic welding projects in our Michigan facility. You will develop welding technologies for new product requirements and support operations with equipment knowledge, robotics, and related systems.

You will lead weld process development, assist quality assurance in maintaining weld integrity, and train team members while collaborating across departments to resolve issues and support new model launches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a four-year college or university.
• 3–5 years of related experience and/or training.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop welding technologies for new product requirements.
• Support operations in acquiring necessary equipment knowledge.
• Specify welding equipment, consumables, systems, robotics and related components.
• Assist in weld quality control processes and root cause analysis.
• Guide welding methods development, materials, processes and results.
• Interface with manufacturing to resolve welding issues and maintain weld integrity.
• Assist with plant floor welding equipment start-up and debugging.
• Provide training and mentorship to welding engineers and technicians.
• Support new model launches and capability runs.
• Participate in 8D problem solving and department meetings.
