Job summary

Senior Aerospace SSP in Burbank, CA seeks an experienced welding engineer to lead complex welding programs for precision metal parts used in aircraft and missile components. You will study problems, develop welding processes, and coordinate certification of welders under ITAR compliance.

Qualifications

• High school plus two years college training in metallurgy, weld design, strength of material.
• 5 years progressively responsible experience in welding and developing welding processes.
• Equivalent education or experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Study and analyze technical and cost aspects of welding problems.
• Experiment with new welding tools, equipment and processes to determine capabilities.
• Develop repeatable weld quality processes for single-piece flow production.
• Coordinate welding program activities and report progress to supervision.
• Coordinate welder certification and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
