Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Welding Engineer 2 to support development and troubleshooting of welding-related requirements for nuclear plant construction and maintenance. The role reports to the Lead Engineer of Welding Technologies and is hybrid, requiring 2 days on-site at Rock Hill, SC or Cranberry Township, PA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in welding or related field is required.
• 3+ years of experience as a Welding Engineer or related role.
• Familiarity with weld maps, shop travelers, and WPS/QA documentation.
• Knowledge of welding procedures control from receipt to production.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally and obtain site access.

Responsibilities

• Develop welding specifications from contract, design, and regulatory requirements.
• Review weld maps, PQRs, WPSs and related welding programs for conformance.
• Collaborate with Global Supply Chain and Supplier Performance Engineering.
• Participate in constructability and design reviews.
• Provide input to weld design and engineering specifications with other disciplines.
• Revise welding consumable/base material specs as needed.
• Support continued development of the WELD software package.
• Evaluate weld failures and nonconformances.
• Assist in addressing issues from ANI, Code, and regulatory bodies.
