Supports Manufacturing Engineering during tool selection, including during quoting process. Support internal and external auditing for special processes. Supports weld candidate selections, certification and improvement. |**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**| || --- || * Liaison with operations concerning weld related issues * Write & implement weld process planning and welding procedures * Specify and order welding equipment and supplies * Organize and track welder certifications * Issue and execute welder certification tests * Maintain weld schedule and weld procedure files * Program weld equipment controllers * Support process development for fusion welding automation * Participates in quotation proposals by supporting manufacturing concepts in conjunction with interested company members to establish efficient and cost-effective fabrication tooling that will make the products, in accordance with prescribed engineering, quality and customer requirements. * Participates in product and process development and design reviews, approves all weld joint design drawings and provides for smooth transfer into production. Support, coordinates and advises on establishing and/or application of weld methods, material and equipment. * Conducts and participates in Lean Manufacturing activities, including 6S and Kaizen events. * This job description is not all inclusive of all duties.
