Job summary

Arrowhead Products Corporation in California seeks a Welding Process Engineer to support manufacturing across fusion and resistance welding, develop and implement weld procedures, and coordinate qualification activities on the shop floor. The role requires an associate degree or equivalent and 0–2 years in GTAW or related processes.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 0–2 years’ experience in GTAW and/or 0–2 years’ experience in special process administration.

Responsibilities

  • Liaison with operations concerning weld related issues.
  • Write & implement weld process planning and welding procedures.
  • Specify and order welding equipment and supplies.
  • Organize and track welder certifications.
  • Issue and execute welder certification tests.
  • Maintain weld schedule and weld procedure files.
  • Program weld equipment controllers.
  • Support process development for fusion welding automation.
  • Participates in quotation proposals by supporting manufacturing concepts to establish cost-effective tooling.
  • Participates in product and process development and design reviews; approve weld joint drawings and transfers to production.
  • Support and advise on establishment/application of weld methods, materials and equipment.
  • Conduct Lean Manufacturing activities including 6S and Kaizen events.

Job SummaryUnder minimal direction, supports manufacturing in its entirety and various linked departments in evaluating, developing, planning, coordinating, directing and improving fusion and resistance weld processes. Supports Manufacturing Engineering during tool selection, including during quoting process. Support internal and external auditing for special processes.
