Job summary
Impact Solutions in Pewaukee, WI seeks a Welding Applications Engineer to lead pre-sales efforts for robotic welding cells, including evaluating parts, designing layouts, and developing technical proposals. This direct-hire, on-site role supports a 1st shift schedule with about 15% travel.
Requires 7+ years in welding/pre-sales, 2-year technical or 4-year engineering degree, US work authorization, and a 45-minute daily commute to Pewaukee. Salary up to $125,000 plus comprehensive benefits.
Qualifications
- 7+ years in welding automation or pre-sales
- Knowledge of GMAW/MIG and GTAW/TIG welding processes
- CAD/2D-3D layout proficiency with AutoCAD or SolidWorks
Responsibilities
- Lead technical feasibility assessments from prints and specs.
- Architect welding automation concepts and robotic cell layouts.
- Develop technical proposals with layouts, cycle times, and BOMs.
- Coordinate weld trials and feasibility testing for proposed solutions.
- Travel to client sites (~15%) for requirements gathering and reviews.
- Ensure welding processes meet AWS/ASME standards and customer specs.
