Job summary

Kito Crosby Limited seeks an Intern – Welding and Machining in Manheim, PA. This non-exempt internship supports the Welding department with hands-on fabrication and shop tasks under supervision. You will read simple drawings, prepare parts, and operate band saws, torches, and basic machining tools.

Safety and teamwork are essential as you gain skills in welding and machining in a production setting. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to read blueprints;

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or acceptable equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints.
• Ability to safely handle material handling equipment such as hoists, cranes, etc.
• Attention to prevent injury to self and others when performing work.
• Ability to use various measuring tools.
• Vocational welding and/or machining experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welding parts that are not load bearing.
• Interpret simple drawing, sketches and or work from samples and instruction.
• Clean, cut, and prepare various metals for welding.
• Safely operate equipment such as saws, torches, press, brakes, etc. to produce sub-assemblies.
• Produce work meeting Quality Control Standards.
• Operate material handling equipment safely.
• General preparation of parts including cleaning, grinding, and deburring.
• Assist with loading and unloading of trucks.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
• Exhibit interpersonal skills to perform as an active team member.

Salary Range: $23.00 To $25.00 Hourly

JOB TITLE: Intern – Welding and Machining

Non-Exempt Position

DEPARTMENT: Welding

BASIC FUNCTION:

Perform, under supervision, the function of lay-out, fabricating and mig

welding. Operate machine shop equipment in accordance with standard industry

practices. Operate the electric band saw/shear/punch press to prepare parts for

machining or welding.

GENERAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Welding parts that are not load bearing.
• Interpret simple drawing, sketches and or work from samples and instruction.
• Clean, cut, and prepare various metals for welding.
• Safely operate various pieced of equipment such as the saw, cutting torch, press, brakes, etc. in order to produce various sub-assemblies.
• Producing acceptable work which meets or exceeds all Quality Control Standards.
• Safely operate various forms of material handing equipment such as hoists, cranes, etc.
• General preparation of parts including cleaning grinding, and deburring.
• Assist with loading and unloading of trucks.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area.
• Exhibit interpersonal skills sufficient to perform as an active team member.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have a high school diploma or acceptable equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints.
• Ability to safely handle various forms of material handling equipment such as hoists, cranes, etc.
• Requires attention and care to prevent injury to self and others when performing work.
• Ability to use various measuring tools.
• Vocational experience in welding and/or machining preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Frequent stooping, bending, reaching, and squatting.
• Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling of up to 75 lbs.
• Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand 7+ hours per day.

• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Demonstrate a positive and business-like attitude.
• Required to wear all OSHA mandated safety equipment and to adhere to all company safety practices and policies.
