Job description

Job Responsibilities

Piedmont Technical College is accepting applications to build an active pool of qualified candidates for Adjunct Faculty (temporary, part‑time) positions. Adjunct instructors may teach at the Lex D. Walters Campus and/or at one of the college’s six county centers located in Laurens, Newberry, Edgefield, Saluda, Abbeville, and McCormick. Opportunities may include daytime or evening classes, online instruction, and dual credit courses offered at local high schools. Applications will be reviewed on an as‑needed basis as teaching opportunities become available.

Responsibilities
  • Teaching a diverse student body in accordance with established syllabi at various locations, utilizing instructional technology, and applying a variety of effective teaching methods.
  • Planning, managing, and delivering course instruction.
  • Following all EPA and OSHA regulations that pertain to the program.
  • Participating in college functions as needed.
  • Applying teaching practices that support the continuous improvement of both the program and the college.
  • Serving as a professional team member who supports the mission and vision of the college while performing duties with the highest level of quality and service.
Minimum And Additional Requirements

Candidates must have a minimum of five years of experience in the welding field and an associate degree, or five years of experience along with relevant industry certifications. The successful candidate must be proficient in SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW welding processes on plate, pipe, and structural steel. Applicants must also possess in-depth knowledge of the welding trade and demonstrate the ability to effectively share this knowledge with others through instruction and training.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience, particularly at the community or technical college level or in secondary education settings.
