Essential Duties / Skills / Responsibilities

1. Has passed Weld 3 test.
2. Welding qualification limited to horizontal (2F) and vertical (3F) fillet welds until passing fillet weld break tests.
3. After passing fillet weld break tests, may tack in groove welds.
4. Welding is FCAW only.
5. Weld in the 2F and 3F positions without supervision after expectations are established.
6. Perform tack welds working with a fitter.
7. Select and set up welding equipment and perform basic troubleshooting.
8. Inspect fillet (2F/3F) welds and perform basic repairs to ensure compliance with standards and specifications (after TC time).
9. Ability to weld to Reasonable Expectations (REs).
10. Note: REs during probation.
11. RE Reduction: WK9 to WK15 (progression over time).
12. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
13. Establish working relationships with other employees and supervisors.
14. Maintain acceptable attendance following company policies.
15. Overtime is an essential function of this position.

Work Conditions

• Heavy industrial worksite environment.
• Outdoor elements, including extreme weather conditions.
• Exposure to air particles such as dust and chemicals.
• Exposure to loud noises in some areas.
• Proper personal protective equipment required: steel-toed or metatarsal boots, ear plugs/earmuffs, safety glasses, pants, and hard hats.
• This is a safety-sensitive position responsible for safety of oneself and others.
