Job description

Summary of Duties for our Welder position:

Rectangular tank fit up and welding assembly duties in tank fabrication operations. Fabricates components using press brake or sheet metal shear. Reads prints, performs basic maintenance, and inspection of equipment. Requests supplies as needed. Keeps work area in clean and neat condition. Practices safe work habits, participates in required safety training and programs. Has good communication skills and ability to work with others.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Able to MIG weld. We use .045 wire with 90/10 NOS gas.
2. Able to use plasma and oxy-propane cutting torches.
3. Able to read blueprints, tape measure, protractor degrees.
4. Able to follow instructions and be self-motivated enough to work with little supervision.
5. Experience with operating Press Brakes, plate shear, iron worker.

Production Standard Rate is currently averaging $27/Hour after training. Our skilled production welder-fitters make great money.

EDUCATION:

Requires high school diploma or GED equivalency; simple reading and arithmetic such as addition and subtraction of whole numbers and reading decimals; work with simple charts, drawings, and measuring equipment.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

At least three years of successful continuous employment in a commercial or industrial setting.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Moderate physical effort; requires standing for the entire shift; may lift up to 60 lbs. throughout the day; good eye and hand coordination; good visual acuity in order to perform most tasks; must be able to climb, stoop, and bend to get up and down from forklift truck and perform various outside activities throughout shop and yard.
