Job summary

PENNANT MOLDINGS LLC in Sabina, OH is seeking a skilled welder to join our manufacturing team. You will weld metal components, set TIG welder parameters, and inspect bead quality to meet customer specs.

Candidates should have at least a certificate in welding or six months of related experience and must be able to work safely in a loud, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Education/Experience: One year certificate from college or technical school in welding OR six months related experience and/or training; equivalent combination.
  • Candidate MUST HAVE prior TIG welding experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and operating instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Welds together metal components and sets TIG welder to proper temperature based on metal type and gauge.
  • Guides electrode or gun along weld line to form specified depth of fusion and bead.
  • Welds in vertical position and inspects bead size and quality.
  • Cleans weld joints and repairs broken parts; fills holes as needed.
  • Positions parts in jig or fixture; clamps workpieces for welding.
  • Follows safety and quality policies and procedures.

Summary

Welds together metal components of products such as metal appliance parts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Obtains specified gage wire and sets TIG welder to proper temperature based on type and guage of metal being welded.

Manually guides electrode or gun along weld line, maintaining length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color of metal, sound of weld, and size of molten puddle.

Welds in vertical position.

Examines weld for bead size and other specifications.

Cleans weld joint or workpiece.

Repairs broken or cracked parts and fills holes.

Chips off excess weld, slag, and spatter.

Positions and clamps workpieces together or assembles them in jig or fixture.

Fills metal part corners to customer specifications.

Follows all safety and quality policies and procedures.
