Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is hiring a Welder for our Lumber facility in Talladega, AL. The position features 12-hour shifts (Thu–Sat, Fri–Sun), overtime, and a shift premium on Fri–Sun. Orientation week runs 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

with regular shifts after. Expect a physically demanding environment and long hours on a hot, humid site. The starting pay is $27.00–$30.00 per hour, plus a $5.00/hour shift premium for certain weekend hours.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of general welding experience.
• Knowledge of TIG, MIG, Arc and Oxy-fuel welding techniques.
• Must produce welds that are 100% x-ray quality and visually acceptable.
• Must know how to clean welds with a buffer or grinder.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment up to 12 hours per day.
• Stand for extended periods and lift/carry objects weighing up to 60 pounds.

Georgia-Pacific is now hiring a Welder to join our Lumber facility in Talladega, AL!

Salary

• Our starting pay is at $27.00 - $ 30.00/hour depending on experience.
• $ 5.00/hour shift premium for any hours worked Friday – Sunday (overtime rules apply).
• You will have the ability to increase your compensation based on skills and contribution to the overall performance of the mill.

Shift

• Only candidates who are flexible and available to work any shift will be considered. This will include overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed.
• 12 hours shifts. Weekends, Thursday – Saturday (every other Sunday), 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
• The week of orientation will be 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and you will be assigned your regular shift after your orientation.

What You Will Do
