Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is hiring an experienced Millwright for our Lumber facility in Warrenton, GA. You will service high‑speed production equipment, troubleshoot complex mechanical issues, and drive reliability across the mill in a large‑scale manufacturing environment.

The role offers a starting pay of $34–$42 per hour with a $2,500 sign‑on bonus and overtime opportunities based on needs. Orientation and shift schedules will be provided upon onboarding.

Qualifications

• Experience reading blueprints and performing precision measurements.
• Experience troubleshooting heavy industrial machinery including conveyors, motors, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Familiar with preventive and corrective maintenance aligned with maintenance strategy.

Responsibilities

• Work in hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environments.
• Communicate effectively with crane operators using standard hand signals.
• Work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required by the operation.

Georgia-Pacific is now hiring an experienced Millwright to support our Lumber facility in Warrenton, GA. In this role, you will work on critical production equipment, solve complex mechanical issues, and help drive reliability across the mill. Salary

Starting pay ranges from $34–$42 per hour, based on experience and skill set with a $2500 sign on bonus! Overtime opportunities are regularly available based on operational needs. Pay progression is driven by demonstrated skills, contributions, and impact on overall mill performance.

Shift

We operate on a 2‑3‑3‑2 schedule, and you will be assigned to days or nights:

• 5:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
• 5:00 p.m. – 5:30 a.m.

This schedule provides built‑in extended time off while maintaining consistent, predictable shift rotations.

This role supports a 24/7 manufacturing operation, so flexibility for overtime, weekends, and holidays is occasionally required based on business needs.

Orientation will be Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with your regular shift assignment following completion.

What You Will Do

• Support high-speed manufacturing equipment including conveyors, motors, hydraulics, pneumatic systems, and automated production lines.
• Perform reliability and maintenance work on heavy industrial machinery in a manufacturing environment.
• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance aligned with the facility’s maintenance strategy.
• Troubleshoot mechanical failures, identify root causes, and implement effective repairs.
• Partner with operations to prioritize maintenance needs and improve equipment performance.
• Follow all plant safety guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Work in hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environments.
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and pulling for up to twelve (12) hours per shift.
• Communicate effectively with crane operators using standard hand signals.
• Work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required by the operation.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Three (3) years of experience in wood products or three (3) years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing, production, or military environment.
• Experience reading blueprints and performing precision measurements.
• Experience troubleshooting rotating equipment, including bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, and conveyor systems.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including reading hydraulic schematics.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Associate degree or higher in Industrial Technology or a related field.
• Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Experience with rigging equipment, including identifying load weights and selecting appropriate rigging methods.
