Georgia-Pacific Rome Lumber is hiring Night Shift Manufacturing Production Workers in Rome, GA. Starting pay is $22.95/hour with a night differential of $1.50, bringing total to $24.45/hour. We offer night shifts only, with overtime and weekend hours as needed.

Orientation begins on day shift; permanent shift assigned after orientation. Typical shifts include 7pm-6am on various mill crews. First-week orientation is on 1st shift, with duties spanning safety, housekeeping, and lumber handling

Qualifications

• Minimum six months of work experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Experience operating heavy equipment and/or forklifts is a plus.
• Familiarity with lumber or wood products environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines and participate in the safety program.
• Remove lumber from conveyors and stack onto carts.
• Work in various mill areas to meet production and quality goals.
• Perform housekeeping to keep machinery running smoothly and reduce hazards.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work environment around machines.
• Carry out tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, and pushing/pulling for long shifts.

Night Shift- Manufacturing Production Worker-Rome, GA

Georgia-Pacific Rome Lumber is now hiring Night ShiftManufacturing Production Workers.

• Our starting pay is $22.95/hour.
• Night Shift Differential: Additional $1.50 per hour (Total: $24.45)

Shift:

• Only candidates who are flexible and available to workanyshift will be considered. This will include overtime, holidays, and weekends based on production needs.
• We are currently hiring for night shifts ONLY.
• Your first week of orientation will be on 1st shift (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM), and you will be assigned your permanent shift after completing orientation.

Potential Shift Hours:

• Sawmill Early week crew: Sunday thru Wednesday (7pm-6am) Sawmill Late Week Crew: Wednesday-Saturday (7pm-6am)
• Planer Mill: first shift: Monday-Friday (6pm-4am) Planer Mill Night Shift: (6pm-4 am)
• Additional hours may be required for overtime, holidays, and weekends

Our Team

Our team creates value by safely assisting with the production of lumber for our valued customers.

What You Will Do

• Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies and procedures and actively participating in the safety program.
• Remove lumber from conveyors and stacking onto carts.
• Working in various areas throughout the mill to help meet or exceed facility and company production and quality goals.
• Performing housekeeping functions to aid in keeping machinery running smoothly, reducing safety and fire hazards, maintaining environmental controls, and maintaining the appearance of the plant.
• Maintaining a clean and orderly work environment using blowers, brooms, and other equipment to clean up debris in and around machines to ensure a safe work environment for all employees.
• Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to 12 hours a day.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• A minimum of six (6) months of work experience in an industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, farming, carpentry, construction, landscaping, production, or military environment.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Minimum two (2) years’ experience within a Manufacturing environment with (1) year experience operating heavy equipment and/or forklifts within an Industrial/Manufacturing environment.
• Experience working in a lumber or wood products environment.
