Job summary

Synerfac Technical Staffing is seeking a Welder for our client in Lynchburg, VA. The role features day or night shifts, Monday to Friday, with a long-weekend friendly schedule and potential contract-to-hire conversion.

The ideal candidate will weld in vertical or horizontal positions, read blueprints, and operate common welding tools. Expect a demanding indoor environment with varied temperatures and noise, and a 50-hour work week.

Qualifications

• Must have 2G and 2F welding skills using 5/64-inch wire
• Must be able to read blueprints and tapelines accurately
• Must be able to work 50 hours per week
• Must be able to work in various indoor conditions including hot and cold temperatures, dust and noisy conditions.

Responsibilities

• Weld components in vertical or horizontal position.
• Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.
• Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.
