ColonialWebb is seeking experienced Welders/Fitters to join our team in Richmond. As a Welder/Fitter, you will lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, and weld piping systems, fixtures, and equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, and industrial processing systems.

What You Will Do

• Weld pipes/metals with techniques such as MIG, TIG, and Stick
• Determine equipment and welding methods based on metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques
• Select pipe types and sizes per job specifications
• Plan installation sequences to avoid obstructions and coordinate with other workers
• Assemble and install various metal pipes and fittings, including carbon steel and stainless steel
• Secure pipes to structures with clamps, brackets, and hangers using hand tools
• Test piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure and observing gauges
• Remove slag and rough spots with grinders, files, or scrapers

What We Are Looking For

• Ability to obtain AWS 6G certification through ColonialWebb
• Experience with MIG, TIG, and Stick welding methods
• Experience with cutting and assembling pipe
• Knowledge of welding rods and fluxes properties
• Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations
• Ability to work from drawings, submittals, and specifications (preferred)
• Basic construction/shop math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions)
