PIPE FITTER/WELDER

Founded in 1977, Triangle Contractors (www.triangle-contractors.com) is an independently owned, growing full-service mechanical contractor focused on delivering turnkey HVAC/mechanical, electrical, and plumbing solutions to a strong base of commercial and industrial customers. Triangle is centrally located in Morganton, North Carolina and services large healthcare, education, general industrial and light commercial customers primarily in Central and Western North Carolina.

Triangle Contractors is currently seeking an experienced Welder/Pipefitter for projects in the Western, NC region. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding and pipefitting, with a focus on delivering high-quality work and exceptional service to our clients. As a Welder/Pipefitter, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate installation, welding, and maintenance of piping systems, while adhering to safety standards and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Required Qualifications

1. Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy
2. May require welding certification(s)
3. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field

Job Responsibilities:

1. Lays out, aligns and welds fabricated, cast and forged components to assemble piping and structural forms according to blueprints and metallurgy
2. Selects type and size of pipe or related materials and equipment according to specifications
3. Selects equipment and plans layouts, assembly and welding, applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining, weld shrinkage and welding techniques
4. May be required to use a variety of welding processes
5. Lays out, positions, aligns and fits components together in various body positions
6. Bolts, clamps and welds together metal components of products such as piping systems, plate, pipe and tube or structural shapes, using arc and arc gas welding equipment
7. May weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead position
8. Loads, transports and unloads material, tools, equipment, and supplies
9. Assists other mechanics as needed
10. Respiratory protection is common and may be required
11. Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules
12. Willing to work various shifts as required
13. Hard working and dependable with proven ability to see jobs through from start to finish
14. Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail skills with proven ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks at once
15. Valid driver’s license or government issued ID
16. Reliable personal transportation daily to the relevant job site
17. All employees are subject to Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification upon hire
