Job summary

BlueScope Buildings is seeking a skilled welder to fabricate and repair metal components for our team. You will read blueprints, set up and weld parts using torches and hand tools, and safely move materials as needed.

We value accuracy, hands-on problem solving, and a commitment to safety. This full-time role includes a sign-on bonus and competitive benefits, with a shift that covers overnight hours and OT opportunities.

Qualifications

• Ability to read blueprints and specifications to determine welding processes.
• Comfortable working with machinery and, eager to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

• Join and Fabricate: interpret blueprints and weld parts per specs.
• Prepare and Set Up: position, align, fit and weld subunits using jigs and tools.
• Lift and Position Materials: safely move materials with cranes or forklifts.
• Ensure Quality: inspect with measuring tools to meet exact specs.
• Contribute to Improvement: engage in continuous improvement activities.
• Maintain and Organize: manage material inventory and housekeeping (5-S).
