BlueScope Buildings is seeking a skilled welder for night shift to fabricate and repair metal components. You will read blueprints, set up parts, and weld to exact specifications in a safety-conscious environment.

Sign On Bonus

$3000 Sign On Bonus! $1500 at 90 days and $1500 at the 1-year mark

Pay

Pay for this position is $31.09/hour and will include a $2.00/hour shift differential

Hours

Hours are Sunday PM-Friday AM 10:00pm-6:00am with some OT Required

What You’ll Do

• Join and Fabricate: Interpret blueprints, specifications, drawings or schematics to determine appropriate welding processes.
• Prepare and Set Up: Position, align, fit and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools
• Lift and Position Materials: Safely use lifting devices, such as cranes and forklifts, to position materials or parts as needed.
• Ensure Quality: Utilize measuring tools and processes to perform inspections before, during, and after production, ensuring materials meet exact specifications.
• Contribute to Improvement: Actively participate in continuous improvement and corrective action activities.
• Maintain and Organize: Keep track of material inventory, perform machine maintenance, and support housekeeping and organizational standards, such as 5-S practices.
