JOB DETAILS

Pay: $20 plus $1

Bonus Pay: Quarterly Gainsharing Bonus

Schedule: Night Shift (4:30pm - 3:00am)

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a motivated and experienced production welder to join our team. This role involves MIG welding on various structural steel components, including but not limited to rigid frame columns, rafters, pipe, beam canopies, small parts, clips, and special assemblies. Welded materials may include thin gauge, painted, or galvanized steel. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of welding techniques and a keen eye for detail in a fast-paced production setting.

The position offers a comprehensive benefits package, paid time off from day one, and mentorship to support growth and development. Overtime is expected in this full-time, direct-hire role.

• Adhere to all safety rules and precautions in the manufacturing environment.
• Coordinate welder settings, gun speed/travel, and gas flow based on bead observation.
• Read tape measures and blueprints to shop standards.
• Determine when adjustments or gun manipulations are necessary.
• Decide on repairs for pinholes and burn-throughs caused by auto welders.
• Train and instruct on proper welding procedures according to manufacturing standards.
• Operate overhead cranes and other lifting equipment safely.
• Maintain bead shape, size, and penetration while ensuring product quality.
• Keep numerical and alphabetical sequences accurate.
• Engage in continuous improvement practices within the work area.
• Regularly communicate verbally and listen attentively during work.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• At least one year of welding experience in a production environment or valid welding certification.
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
• Willingness to obtain and maintain CWB and AWS welding certifications per Cornerstone standards.
• Experience with forklift and overhead crane operation is a plus.
• Comfort with power hand tools.
• Willing to train, certify, and operate forklift and overhead crane.
• Effective at meeting deadlines and working collaboratively.
• Basic mathematical skills and proficiency with measuring instruments.
